The Role of an Insurance Defense Attorney

As an Insurance Defense Attorney at Liberty Mutual, you will represent the company and its policyholders in civil litigation matters. Your main role will be defending insureds who are sued by plaintiffs seeking compensation for injuries or damages allegedly caused by our insureds’ actions.

In addition, your tasks may include investigating claims, conducting legal research, preparing pleadings and motions, attending court proceedings, and negotiating settlements. However, ultimate goal will be to protect Liberty Mutual’s and its policyholders’ interests while upholding ethical standards and adhering to state laws.

Requirements for the Role

To be considered for this position as an Insurance Defense Attorney at Liberty Mutual, you must meet the following requirements:

• A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to practice law in the United States
• At least three years of experience practicing insurance defense and civil litigation
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently
