About the Department

The City of Tukwila’s Parks and Recreation Department oversees 159 acres of parks, 12 miles of trails, Foster Golf Links, and the Tukwila Community Center. They maintain these facilities and offer diverse recreational events and programs for all ages.

The Tukwila Recreation Department is seeking a Seasonal Recreation Program Site Supervisor to support Youth and Teen Recreation Programs. The role involves working Monday-Friday from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm for after-school programs, with occasional evening shifts. This position is limited to 1,040 hours within a 12-month period.

Responsibilities of the Teens

  • Ensure the safety of program staff and participants, maintaining a clean and secure environment.
  • Complete and maintain necessary forms, reports, and documentation for recreation staff.
  • Enforce facility, equipment, and program rules, assisting staff with corrections when needed.
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and organizing various programs, events, and activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, depending on the specific responsibilities of the position.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Strong understanding of hazards and safety practices.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with staff, participants, volunteers, parents, and the public.
  • Physical capability to perform the essential duties of the role.
  • Experience with various systems, including scheduling programs, registration software, and Microsoft Office.

Minimum Qualifications:

(A) Possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D.;

(B) Minimum of 18 years old;

(C) College-level coursework in Recreation
