Responsibilities of an Associate Underwriter

As an Associate Underwriter, you will review and analyze various insurance policies, applications, and documents to determine client risk levels and potential losses. This involves:

• Assessing client information: Your first role will be to assess the client’s information, such as credit history, driving record, property value, and other relevant data.
• Making informed decisions: You must use your analytical skills to make sound decisions related to insurance coverage. This includes understanding complex insurance policies and regulations and using them to guide decision-making.
• Providing recommendations: In addition to assessing risks, you will be responsible for making recommendations to clients about their insurance coverage. This requires excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical information clearly and understandably.
• Establish Relations with Assigned Brokers: You will also be required to establish and maintain positive relationships with assigned brokers, providing them with support and guidance in underwriting matters.
• Establishing Proper Terms:  As an Associate Underwriter, you will also establish proper terms and conditions for insurance policies based on your risk assessment.

Key Requirements to Join the Team of Farmers Insurance Group

• Knowledge of insurance underwriting principles and practices: To excel as an associate underwriter, you must have knowledge of insurance underwriting principles and practices.
• Education: We require well-educated individuals with a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related fields.
• Experience: Previous experience in insurance underwriting (1-3 years) is highly preferred.
